Meet Vince Camuto

If you could describe the Vince Camuto collection in three words, what would it be?

Fun, Casual, and sometimes Sexy!

If a woman was looking for a shoe to go out in what shoe from your collection what would you recommend?

If she is tall, wear a nice flat like the Ellen Flat or the Jamma heel.
If she is wicked, wear a high platform like the Jenks or Baily
If she likes boots, wear riding boots such as the Karena boot

What three things do you think every woman should have in her closet?

A Vince Camuto shoe, a Vince Camuto Signature shoe, and a Vince Camuto handbag. If there could be a fourth thing, then a great blazer.

What would you say is the best part about your job?

Working with all these women! They are beautiful, smart, and are a lot of fun to work with!

How did the Vince Camuto Signature Collection come about?

We saw that there was a need for great shoes and women are tired of spending crazy amount of money on shoes. The Vince Camuto Signature collection ranges from $200 and up. The shoes are made of top quality. Instead of paying thousands of dollars on a shoe, the Vince Camuto Signature collection costs less but is still made with top quality materials.

I LOVE shoes! Do you think its okay for a woman to have too much shoes?

Of course not! What better accessory could there be besides shoes? Shoes easily embellishes an outfit.

What are some of your favorite spring trends so far?

Espadrilles, wedges, flats, color-blocking, and thick heels

If you had to pick one shoe from your collection that you think every woman should have as a staple shoe, what would it be?

A beautiful point pump. You can go everywhere with it. For those who commute, you need one beautiful flat.

Whats the hardest part about designing a shoe?

Pattern making is hard and also the construction of the shoe. We want to make sure we are giving women the right comfort in our shoes.

Who/What inspires you?

Anywhere!- Downtown, NYC, the people on the streets, people walking the streets downtown in NYC

Whats the best piece of advice someone ever gave you when pursuing your career in the fashion industry?

Go with your gut and be passionate. You have to go with your heart or GET OUT! You have to be thrilled on what you do and love your job.

Meet CC Skye

What inspires you?
Music is the most inspiring part of my life.. Music definitely inspires my
collections. Some songs provide visuals to a song that can then be made into
a hot little handbag or piece of jewelry. Traveling to South East Asia is
also very inspiring as it pulls me out of my routine and give me fresh eyes
being in such a different part of the world.

How would you describe your line in three words?
LUXE. FORWARD. ELEGANT.

The holidays are coming up so soon! Do you have any holiday tips?
Be grateful.. Buy yourself presents. Don’t buy too many winter clothes
because in California in January and February it can start to feel like
Spring! Don’t believe in all the New Years Pressure.. But Take some time off
to reflect on the past year and kiss 2011 goodbye and make lots of wishes on
stars for all your dreams to come true in 2012..

How would you describe your personal style?
My Style is very comfort-oriented with skinny, stretchy mother jeans, or LNA
Leggings or Bell Bottoms, which is pretty dressed down, high sexy stilettos
or booties to add some femininity, a preferably fake fur jacket, or a top
mixed with cotton and pleather (love this combo), big sunglasses, lots of
bracelets - right now wearing punk princess bracelet in silver, but I want
it in gold as soon as it comes IN STOCK!, renaissance ring, the new midnite
bracelet with dipped black and gold.. other bracelets I often wear is the
baja Malibu bracelet in black.. my bag du jour is either the onie in black,
the leight luxe in black or the love 82 in black python.. hence, I only
carry black bags, ever.. wink..

What are 3 items that every girl should have in her closet?
1 pair of flattering skinny jeans
A comfy cardigan that you can wrap up in while at home or out to dinner
A handbag that makes them feel stunning and life changing..

What is on your holiday wish list this year?
I need an ipad cover. I always love things for my home.. home décor is my
hobby.. I have a chandelier in every room and bathroom in my house and I
think I want to make one this year.  A trip to the tropics is really on my
wish list this year..

Who are some if your favorite designers?
Kimberly Ovitz, Helmut Lang,
Mother Jeans, Guiseppe Zanotti, Rag and Bone.

How did you start your own line?
I spent some time in the Himmalayas outside of Kathmandu Nepal and weeks
turned into months and the country was still very underdeveloped at the time
so I had to make any clothes that I wanted to wear.. spring was coming and I
had no new spring clothes! So I teamed up with local seamstresses and with
my native language skills taught them a whole new way of making dresses - LA
Style (very different from the traditional Tibetan clothing they are used
to). Then I spent some time working at MTV and the Style Network at E! and
did did Awards shows and profiled the lives of various designers and fashion
icons.. I then met a very legendary manufacturer who taught me everything I
know about making jewelry and then quickly moved onto bags once the jewelry
took off..

Pictured below are some of CC's favorite pieces from her collection:

Meet Joyce Azria

As the creative director for BCBGeneration, what sort of things inspire you to help create the line?
Being inspired is part of my job. I find young women so wonderfully intriguing, with so many unique perspectives and passions and it is such a privilege to help design clothes that encourage individuality and self confidence.
How would you describe BCBGeneration?
BCBGeneration is a lifestyle brand inspired by the youthful spirit and creative sensibility of today’s woman. It affords every woman the freedom to explore, expand and express her individuality through her personal style.
What would you say is the toughest part about your job?
The days vary a lot. One day can be a design day, another a production day. It requires a lot of discipline and focus. There needs to be talent and creativity, but at the end of the day, we have to make a garment, which is not a piece of cake!
I know that you are starting a denim line for BCBGeneration, what inspired you to start this new denim line?
We wanted to design a denim line with refined, iconic cuts that would fit the Generation girl. My sister Chloe was the source of inspiration for the line.  She not only has killer style and ideas, but is also a total sweetheart!
What are some of your favorite fall trends?
I really love classic silhouettes that are reworked, like a high-waisted printed pant or asymmetrical maxi skirt. Petite prints are also great for the non-print girl to try something new and incorporate a fun, statement piece into her wardrobe.
What pieces do you think every woman should have in their closet?
Every woman should hold onto key pieces each season. It’s so great to be able to bring back some favorites from last year and reincorporate into your wardrobe. I think a maxi skirt is really flattering on every shape and is so easy to just throw on and go.
Who are some of your favorite designers?
My dad of course!
How would you describe your personal style?
My style is defined by the three Cs: chic, clean and collected. I take risks with my accessories but I usually stick to a neutral palette.
What is a normal day like as the Creative Director?
Let’s see… my son wakes me up at the crack of dawn and the race begins! Shower and get dressed. (I always pick out my shoes first and work my way up.) Then I drop off my baby as I eat breakfast and it’s off to the office. I always kiss my dad hello before I start my work day. Then I begin taking meetings with all departments from design, buying, footwear, jewelry to marketing and everything in-between. Then I grab a quick lunch with my family mid-day—we exchange ideas, laugh, recharge and then I get back to business. I race back home, take my fashionista hat off and turn back into mommy for relaxed fun with my son and a quiet dinner with family or friends. Phew!
When you have some downtime in your life, what's your favorite go-to outfit to just relax in?
I’m a mom, so my play clothes are workout leggings, an easy t-shirt and a North Face zip-up. The ponytail is optional.
The holidays are coming up, what pieces from BCBGeneration would you suggest?
My favorite pieces are: a pullover mini skirt or silvery pant to add some shine to holiday celebrations, wide-leg silky pants that can go from day-to-night and a cozy knit sweater for kicking back and cuddling on the couch. Also, nothing is better for a holiday party than a sparkly mini dress!
